    Description
Step into the realm of the fearless seafarers of the Early Middle Ages with our Ulfberht Viking Sword, an embodiment of the robust and fierce Viking spirit. Known also as the Viking Age Sword, this weapon gained its reputation in the legendary Battle of Stiklestad.

The Ulfberht sword, a descendant of the Roman Gladius, was born in the 8th century, evolving from the Merovingian sword. This blade was the choice of the intrepid Viking people based in Scandinavia. A single-handed sword with sharp edges and a pointed tip, it's crafted for both slashing and thrusting maneuvers. The Viking swords reigned supreme until the 12th century, gradually morphing into the Norman swords, the precursors of the knightly swords.

    Blade of Distinction

This Viking sword is a splendid demonstration of Pattern welded Damascus steel craftsmanship. The blade, a heat-treated folded carbon steel, is composed of 11 pieces of steel, folded five times, resulting in 352 layers. This steel presents a perfect amalgamation of hardness and durability, boasting a Rockwell hardness rating between 55 and 56 HRC.

Our Ulfberht Viking Sword is characterized by layers of high carbon steel, specifically the 1095 steel, known for its superior carbon content. This layering process yields a sword strong enough to maintain a potent edge, yet flexible and resilient enough to endure powerful collisions—the ideal steel for swords.

    Exceptional Handle and Sheath

The handle, a combination of wood and Damascus steel bolsters, is elegantly wrapped in leather, providing a comfortable grip. The sword is accompanied by a leather sheath for convenient carriage and protection.
